Day 1: The opening stretch
Over 4,600 walkers met at Exhibition Place to begin the Weekend. Here, participants are being led in a pre-walk stretch.
Day 1: Best Health stretches, too
From left: Editor Bonnie Munday, associate publisher Michelle Kellner and sales associate Grant Faulkner formed the Best Health team, along with web editor (and official Best Health event photographer) Kat Tancock and e-commerce director Zahra Young, who walked in Montreal.
Day 1: Time for lunch
There were pit stops along the route, some with just water and “sanctuaries” (*ahem* Porta-Potties), some with food as well. Here, the team stops for a well-deserved lunch break.
Day 1: Best Health for all
Walkers also received a complimentary copy of Best Health, and a special subscription offer.
Day 2: Past the Princess Margaret
As the route moved through the downtown core, walkers passed the Princess Margaret Hospital, the beneficiary of their fundraising. Here, Kat and Bonnie are pictured with Dr. Robert Buckman, a medical oncologist at the hospital.
Day 2: An awesome achievement
Walkers get their picture taken next to a statue commemorating the fundraising efforts of all participants in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer, to be called the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers starting in 2010. In 2009, participants raised over $11.6 million.
